UUnder our current Sheriff we have had 332 escapes. This is unparalleled in our state. If we are going to ask our Officers to put their lives on the line to arrest these criminals, the least we can do is make sure they serve their time in custody.
I will harden the security of the jail. I will modernize our security with cameras, motion lights, multi layered fencing and tracking on those inmates that leave our jail grounds. I will offer training and job skills to those inmates who wish to turn their lives around and rehabilitation services to those who battle addiction.
I will harden the security of the jail.
I will identify veterans who come into our system and ensure that they have access to the services they have earned. And if need be, I will add beds using our existing unused structures or add modular buildings as needed. There is no need to spend 40 million taxpayer dollars on a new facility, as Sheriff Moore has continually proposed. A jail should be secure, not fancy.
